Meet Mrs. Morse

Hi!  My name is Mrs. Kristin Morse, and I am a first grade teacher at Madison Elementary.

My Family
My husband, John, and I have two children, Abigail (Abby) and Ryan.  We live on a farm northwest of Madison.  John farms with his parents.  They raise Angus cattle, corn and beans.

My Education
I graduated from Brookings High School.  I have a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Elementary Administration from South Dakota State University .  I am also pursuing a Reading Specialist Certification from the University of Sioux Falls.

My Experience
After graduation from college, I began my teaching career at Deubrook Elementary in Toronto, SD.  I spent six years at Deubrook teaching children in grades two, three, and five.  For four years I had the opportunity to work as a reading specialist/literacy coach with the SD Reading Initiative.  In 2005, I began working for the Madison Central School District at the GraceVale Hutterite Colony in grades K-3.  I started teaching first graders at Madison Elementary in 2007.

My Interests
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, shopping, walking, riding bike, and camping.  My family and I attend most home Jackrabbit football and basketball games.
